Annual Business Meeting & Carry-In Dinner

Sunday, December 10, after the Morning Service

We will have our annual business meeting to vote on the  proposed budget for 2018.  Copies of the proposed budget are available on the table next to the Media Center or you can contact the church office for a copy. Please take one to go over the information before the meeting. If you have questions or suggestions please talk to the contact person listed for that area before Tuesday, December 5, so that we will have time to make any changes that may be needed. Preceding the meeting we will have a carry-in dinner. The church will provide the main course so we ask that everyone bring a side dish or dessert to share.

December

During the next few weeks we will be offering a number of opportunities to celebrate the birth of Jesus:

 December 16 - Mason Jar Blessings. (1:00 - 4:00pm)

O.K. crafters, it’s time to heat up your glue guns and come help us make gifts for the families of our TeamKid kids.   We have some fun projects planned. If you can’t make this event but would still like to participate we will be filling Mason Jars with home made cookies or candy. The cookies need to be 2.5 inches in diameter at the maximum so that they will fit in the jars. It will be a fun afternoon and a great way to show love to these families.  For more information please see Sally Craft or Becci Kalfell.

 December 17 - Children’s Ministry Christmas Party.

Starting at 3:00pm in the Fellowship Hall, the Children’s Ministry Team has a great party planned for all kids (age 5 - 5th Grade).  Following scripture from the promise of the Messiah to the fulfillment of that promise, the children will create crafts to tell the Christmas story. Families are invited to be a part of the event with their children. So that we can have enough supplies please call Susan at        388-1180 if you can join us.   Also: We need people to help and also those who can provide snacks. Please contact Susan at 388-1180 if you can cover one of these areas. Thanks.

December 24 - Christmas Eve Service

This year we will celebrate our Christmas Eve Service beginning at 5:00pm. Please join us as we take a moment to focus the birth of Jesus, our Savior and soon-coming King. We encourage you to invite friends and family to come with you.

Community Blood Draw.

Tuesday, December 12, from Noon to 5:30pm, at the Senior Center.  Walk-ins are welcome or you can make an   appointment by calling 347-9388. Please bring identification.

How are we living examples of the gospel while we work?

God has a purpose for us on this earth. That calling is to be on mission for God where He has placed us. Since many people spend the majority of their waking hours on the job, we have to stop compartmentalizing life into “spiritual activities” and “work activities.”

You’re invited to the 2018 Work as Worship Retreat, where eleven influential business leaders and pastors will discuss what it looks like to connect faith and work. Taking place as a 1-Day Local Church Retreat on February 23, 2018, the live event in Dallas will be web-streamed to over 2,000 churches around the world. FBC will be one of the host churches participating. Go to www.workasworshipretreat.org to learn more or to register for the Retreat.
